Men Going Their Own Way!
Recently I’ve stumbled upon a YouTube channel dedicated to a rather unusual sort of music. Have you ever heard about lamellophones? Or thumb-pianos? These are the instruments known as mbiras or kalimbas.
As Wikipedia says, simply speaking it is an African musical instrument consisting of a wooden board (often fitted with a resonator) with attached staggered metal tines, played
by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs. The mbira is usually classified as part of the lamellaphone family, and part of the idiophone family of musical instruments. Members of this broad family of instruments are known by a wide variety of names, such as likembe, mbila, mbira huru, mbira njari, mbira nyunga nyunga, sansu, zanzu, karimbao,
marimba, karimba, kalimba, okeme, ubo, or—between the late 1960s and early 1970s— sanza, as well as marímbula (also called kalimba) in the Caribbean Islands).
I spend some time digging information about the person behind the whole project, as the music was really interesting. I’ve contacted him through Patreon and we’ve exchanged few messages. Turns out that he was heavily influenced by Estas Tonne, knows about MGTOW and is staying happily single for a long time already! What a coincidence. Also, he wants to become a busker just like his mentor. The only difference is that he won’t be using a guitar but a kalimba instead! By the way, if you don’t know E. Tonne, I heavily encourage you to check as he’s absolutely awesome! But going back to my point, currently I believe that the dude behind the kalimba channel isn’t yet anywhere close to his idol but he is actively working towards it and I wish him all the best. I am sure that through his journey one day he will fulfill his dream.
Here is the Kalimba Freak channel I was referring to.
Here you can find Estas Tonne.
Both of them are obviously GTOW, whether one is almost at the peak of his journey and the other is barely starting one thing is sure- the less experienced player can certainly learn from the other one. This way, our long forgotten brotherhood of men can be reignited through the power of the Internet.
“It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”
Make the most of your life. Achieve goals and fulfill your dreams. This is the essence of MGTOW.
PS. Oh, and you don’t need a woman for any of this.
